Bombay Stories is a powerful and poetic drama that sheds light on the misuse of women and the realities faced by women living on the margins of society. Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi and inspired by Saadat Hasan Manto’s acclaimed collection Bombay Stories, the film is built around three of Manto’s celebrated short stories — Khusiyah, Saugandhi and Bu — along with a fourth narrative that ties the film together.
The evening begins with the screening of Bombay Stories, a film that confronts the harsh realities faced by women in vulnerable positions. It highlights how gender inequality, social stigma and violence shape their everyday lives — and how their stories are often overlooked.
Following the screening, the audience is invited to an open panel discussion on women’s challenges in today’s society. The conversation will explore how issues such as equality, crime and human rights intersect, and how film and art can help bring forward experiences that rarely receive public attention.

Dharmendra was one of Bollywood’s greatest icons, a legendary star whose charisma, strength and warmth defined an entire era of Indian cinema. As he passed away in 2025, we honor his legacy with a special tribute screening — featuring one of his blockbuster films from the height of his prime.
